6th February - 9th February

1st Lesson
I was off for this lesson so I just looked over some images at home that i had taken over the weekend for my contents page.

2nd Lesson
I spent all lesson working on my contents page but near the end i lost the work, luckily I managed to recover an older piece and redid some work.

3rd Lesson

I prepared for my photoshoot this lesson as it was at the end of the day.
4th Lesson
I wrote this blog entry in this lesson and began editing and inputting my images from the photoshoot into my contents page.

30th January - 2nd February

1st Lesson

In this lesson I began to add boxes to a double page spread that is going to be for my band article. I worked out where the image and text would go in correlation to the Lily Allen article out of NME.
2nd Lesson

 I added my completed article in this lesson and arranged it like the NME article so that it only needed images and I then began the contents page.

3rd Lesson

In this lesson I added things to my blog such as the schedule and photoshoot plan and started work on the contents page.
4th Lesson

I continued my contents page and modelled it on a kerrang contents page, and did this weekly monitoring blog.

23rd January -26th January

1st Lesson I finished off my "Blaggers guide to being a SceneKid" article and then put it into my DPS and positioned it on the page the text was going.
2nd Lesson
In this lesson I continued work on my DPS to make it look similar to the Kerrang Murderdolls article. In the image below I made the text boxes linked within the article so it flowed better and then left it so i can input the images when i've taken them.

3rd Lesson
In this lesson I thought up my second DPS idea and began researching the topic. I then started typing it up and began thinking of a suitable photoshoot that will give me the images I need to make he article.
4th Lesson
In this lesson I finished my second article and did this post, finishing this article allowed me to start doing my layout on monday.

16th January -19th January

1st Lesson
I began to write the blaggers guide to being a scene kid double page spread in this lesson so whilst I was waiting to find out about the second DPS I was making progress with the project as a whole.
2nd Lesson
This lesson was the same with me finishing off the article so that it could be put into InDesign.
3rd Lesson
I began constructing my magazine based around a Kerrang! Murderdolls article, this made the DPS more structured.
4th Lesson
In this lesson I did this update as well as have a meeting with my teacher to discuss progress and Unit 4.

Contingency Plans

9th January -12th January

1st Lesson
This lesson I set up this blog so that I can track the projects progress online. This took a while so I only had time to start my first post that was about the pitch I had to do for my magazine.
2nd Lesson
I continued the post I had been doing the last lesson and then began getting the other files I needed to upload changed from a word document to a PDF to a JPEG so that I can post the picture of the document rather than copy and paste all the information.
3rd Lesson
I was off for this lesson so whilst at home I continued converting the files so I could upload them when I was next on here.
4th Lesson
Talked to my teacher about contingency ideas as my original idea had to be changed as one of the band members has fallen ill. This gave my an idea to start working on so I emailed a guitar lutherie and enquired about an interview so that will be my featured DPS and will be the main image on my front cover.

Pitch

This is what we had to produce to show my client,The Northern Echo, it sums up the whole of my product from content to costings.I used other magazines to show the regulars that will be in the magazine and how a consistant magazine layout keeps within the genres specifics. I created my magazine a rate card so I could show how income was generated by advertising and sales showing that the magazine can be self financed in a viable way. I showed them this fact by including graphs that showed the money being calculated against expenditure.
